Angus Baskerville is not your average magician. He’s a full-time professional performer, an official member of The Magic Circle — the most prestigious magic society in the world — and he also happens to be autistic.

In a world where neurodivergent voices are often overlooked, Angus is using his platform to show the power of difference. His story is one of talent, resilience, and breaking down stereotypes — both in the world of magic and in wider society.

Anna Kennedy OBE and Olivia Slatter – Princess Diana award winner, had the privalage to intervew Angus for our podcast- ‘All Things Autism’

Anna Kennedy OBE shared her admiration for Angus’s talent, saying:

” It never fails to amaze me how slick and seamless Angus is with his performances. He makes even the most complex magic tricks look effortless — it’s like the magic flows through him naturally.”

Olivia shared her feed back by saying:- ” “I’ve never seen a magician live before, and watching Angus perform was honestly incredible. You can see how much time, energy, and discipline has gone into every trick. What he does takes not just talent, but unbelievable focus and resilience.”

Autism and the Art of Magic

For Angus, autism isn’t something to hide — it’s part of what makes his magic so remarkable. His deep focus, strong memory, and ability to think outside the box are all traits that help him perform mind-blowing tricks and illusions.

“Autism gives me a different way of seeing the world,” Angus shares. “And that’s what magic is all about — showing people something they’ve never seen before.”

Rather than seeing his diagnosis as a limitation, Angus sees it as a superpower — one that allows him to truly stand out in a crowded industry.

Becoming a Member of The Magic Circle

The Magic Circle is known around the globe as a symbol of excellence in magic. Gaining membership isn’t easy — it requires skill, professionalism, and dedication.

Angus worked hard to earn his place. His performances blend technical precision with emotion and storytelling, creating a unique style that leaves audiences spellbound. His inclusion in The Magic Circle isn’t just a personal achievement — it’s a message that diversity belongs on every stage.

Breaking Barriers and Inspiring Others

Angus is passionate about using his story to help others — especially autistic individuals — realise they can thrive in any industry, even one as unexpected as magic.

Through public speaking, media appearances, and live shows, Angus challenges misconceptions about autism. He’s proof that being different doesn’t mean being less — it means having a unique spark.

Angus’s Advice: Embrace Your Difference

To anyone facing barriers or feeling out of place, Angus has a simple but powerful message:

“Lean into what makes you different. Your uniqueness is where your magic lives.”

He’s an inspiring figure not only in the world of performance but also in the growing movement for disability inclusion and neurodiversity awareness.
