Anna Kennedy OBE was invited to attend the premier on 22nd March. Anna said “Having watched the premiere where our Patron John Paul Rock-Horsley was one of the participants, I thought this was a positive and informative programme for the public that knew very little about autism and was presented by two autistic females.
I hope that employers were watching this programme and that more job opportunities we will be on offer to autistic adults. Small reasonable adjustments in the work place can make a huge difference. I have seen evidence of this with my own son.
Autistic adults want a good education, employment, friends etc just like everyone else.
In the programme they talked about 1 in a 100 people being diagnosed on the autism spectrum in my opinion it should be something like 1 in 50 or less these figures need to be reviewed. With waiting times for an assessment are still far too long . I spoke to CEO of Daisy Chain Charity of which I am a Patron and wait times are four years in Stockton ”
