Place2Be's Children's Mental Health Week

Throughout the years, I speak to parents and carers struggling with their childs mental health and navigating the SEND, social care, and health system.

It requires an enormous amount of resilience to parent a child with mental health issues as well as their diagnosis of autism and overlapping conditions .
It can take a toll on parents, and they need to take care of their own emotional health too.
Sometimes, our health and social health care system can let the most vulnerable people of society down.

You, as a parent, have to continue to advocate for your loved one as tired and drained as you may be feeling .

Please dont worry if you have to ruffle some feathers . I know it can be really hard. However , sometimes this is the only option .
We parents have to kick the doors down when no one is listening .
Stay safe, take 5 when you can, ask for help if you need it and keep strong !!
