I wanted to share with you a poem that I wrote for the Autism Hero Awards. It was a wonderful experience to attend the awards, I was humbled and moved by the people and their stories and achievements. As a parent of young children, it was incredible inspiring.At the Autism Hero Awards, a night so bright,
We gather in awe, hearts filled with light.
Stories of strength and courage unfold,
Heroes rise, both young and old.
Moved by the stories that echo so true,
Their journey, a testament for all that they do
Each step, each moment, a victory, a fight,
Often against odds, they shine so bright.
Inspired by the hearts that never retreat,
Overcoming barriers, they never accept defeat.
Their spirits unbroken, their dreams take flight,
In every triumph, we see the light.
We are humbled, in awe, at the courage we see,
At the power of inclusion, where all are free.
To Anna Kennedy OBE, a guiding star,
Your work, your vision, takes a community far.
The Autism Hero Awards, a celebration so true,
Of resilience, of love, and the strength not to undo.
We left the night with hearts full of grace,
Inspired and humbled, in this shared safe space.’
