Too many autistic individuals are still being bullied — in schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, communities, and online. Launched in 2012 with the Anti‑Bullying Alliance and NSPCC, #GiveUsABreak is our call to turn awareness into action and make unstructured times safe and welcoming for everyone.

About the GUAB Campaign

“Give Us A Break” focuses on the times of day when many autistic children and young people are most vulnerable — break and lunch — and turns them into moments of safety, structure and belonging.

WHY GUAB EXISTS

Unstructured spaces can amplify anxiety and isolation. GUAB asks schools and colleges to make visible commitments: clear anti‑bullying messaging, structured options at break, staff awareness, and easy ways to report concerns.

WHAT "WE SAY NO TO BULLYING" MEANS

It’s a public pledge and a practical framework. Posters set the tone; activities and quiet zones create safety; celebration of good practice changes culture.

WHO TAKES PART

Students, families, educators, and supporters nationwide. Schools display posters, run clubs, and share their stories so others can replicate what works.
