A celebration of talent, love and stories💜

It is an honour to write this article, not only as a proud member of the Anna Kennedy Online Team but also as someone who had the privilege of performing alongside the incredible acts at this year’s Autism’s Got Talent Whitley Bay Roadshow, in partnership with the True Colours Theatre CIO Foundation.

The evening was truly heartfelt and inspiring. Fifteen acts took to the stage, showcasing their remarkable talent and sharing their powerful stories. From captivating vocals and mesmerising dance to heartfelt performances, every act brought something unique that enthralled the audience.

Families connected throughout the day and during rehearsals, forming new friendships, and previous performers from the last decade reunited to reflect on their achievements and progress. Each act bravely spoke about their experiences, reminding everyone of the incredible capabilities and potential within the autism community and beyond. Autism’s Got Talent is not just about performance; it’s about empowerment, acceptance, and creating a platform for individuals to be their authentic selves.

Witnessing these talented individuals shine so brightly was both humbling and uplifting. The audience was incredibly supportive of each act and was thrilled to celebrate when I debuted my first live performance of “Sight of You” (What a Sight to Lose). It was amazing to see everyone in the audience get up on their feet and start dancing. I am sure this event will create lasting memories for all who participated.
