This month is Autism Acceptance Month and Daytime presenter Aston Avery was joined by his regular contributor Anna Kennedy OBE founder of autism charity Annakennedyonline to chat All Things Autism and they spoke to guests and also preview the upcoming Autism Hero Awards that is taking place in London on 9th May.

Aston and Anna’s guest was Autism’s Got Talent performer Kieron Lee.

Here’s what Anna said after the show:

Aston and I for Autism Acceptance Month in April chat ‘All things Autism’  on Gateway Radio and discuss the upcoming AnnaKennedyonline Charity Autism Hero Awards on May 9th. Our judges had the tough task of choosing 33 finalists from 11 categories.

Our guest this month was Anna Kennedy Online charity ambassador Mr. Kieron Lee who made a memorable debut in Episode 2 of ITV’s powerful and thought-provoking series of ITVs The Assembly, featuring Nicola Sturgeon.

Over the past few months, charity ambassador Mr. Kieron Lee has been filming for ITV’s The Assembly, making his debut in Episode 2, which features Nicola Sturgeon.

The episode is available to watch now on ITVX, or viewers can tune in tonight at 10:05 PM on ITV.

In this episode, Nicola Sturgeon is interviewed by a panel of autistic and learning-disabled interviewers, who ask honest, fearless, and uncompromising questions. The discussion covers a wide range of personal and political topics, including her separation from her husband, her least favourite politicians, her arrest, and her love life, with nothing off-limits.

Reflecting on the experience, Kieron said:

“Filming for The Assembly has been a surreal experience, and one that I will treasure for the rest of my life. It has also been a huge stepping stone for me, taking me out of my comfort zone and into completely new territory. It was also my first time travelling to London alone.”

To close Episode 2, Kieron also performed a moving duet of “Dignity” by Deacon Blue. This week Kieron appeared on this weeks episode with Aitch asking him a question about his sister . Again the episode is available to watch online.

This year Kieron will be performing at our Charity Autism Hero Awards at Holiday Inn Regents Park.
