Autism show – September 2026

On Daytime, Aston was joined by his regular contributor Anna Kennedy OBE founder of autism charity Annakennedyonline as they chat all things autism for this month where they spoke to guests and previewed the upcoming fifteenth Autism’s Got Talent show that is taking on Saturday 10th October at Mermaid Theatre in Blackfriars, London.

The first of Aston and Anna’s guests was Maggie Patterson from PPAS.

The second of Aston and Anna’s guests was broadcaster Andreia Santos.

The third of Aston and Anna’s guests was Autism’s Got Talent performer Andre Adams.

Anna had this to say after the show:

“Another busy show for Aston and I on Gateway 97.8 talking ‘All things Autism’ for the month of September!

Once again, we had three amazing guests and the theme for the show was Autism’s got Talent celebrating 15 years 3 weeks tomorrow eek. We are all so excited to welcome our performers both past performers and new.

Maggie Paterson and PPAS.

Our first guest was good friend to the charity the lovely Maggie Paterson founder of PPAS. Maggie spoke about the past 15 years and our journey together. We will be forever grateful as a charity for the scholarships given through-out the years to children and adults supporting the charity.

Maggie shares 50 of her PPAS students will be opening the show with an uplifting number and the antibullying number has been recreated from many years ago. I cannot wait!!

A huge shoutout to Fiona Shepherd who has been our Stage Manage for 15 years. Thank you both your precious time given to us is always appreciated .

André Adams – Saxophonist and Theatre Technician

My first AGT with Anna Kennedy, I was only 10 years old at the Flora Pavilion near Liverpool. The second AGT, I was 11 at the Mermaid Theatre in London.

The experience in performing at AGT gave me the confidence and while at primary school, I produced ‘The André Adams Music Award’ which I present to Primary Schools in and around Cheshire encouraging children to make music, It’s in 6 primary schools so far.

High school was a challenge especially during Covid.

During that time, I made a sound track from the experience. It’s called ‘Mouth’. It won a competition with the BBC.

Finishing High School, I achieved my GCSEs and performed on Sax at My Prom Night Party which was the Highlight of my School Life.

In College, I Graduated in ‘Music Production’ with Distinctions, and reached Grade 8 in Drums.

I enjoy performing on Sax at Parties and Charity Events. I’ve played in some beautiful venues. You can follow me on Instagram Saxguyandre

This has also led me in to Theatres. I’ve been involved with many productions on and off the stage. My natural skills are with Sound as a Sound Technician but recently I’ve been exploring Stage Management with local theatre companies. It’s hard work but great fun at the same time and I enjoy being around like-minded people.

Passing my Driving Test, first time is my most recent Achievement and I’ve bought a Car. I’m so proud of myself.

My plans for the future are to continue with my Sax, more Theatre Teching around the UK or abroad and continuing to encouraging children to make Music.

Andreia Santos

Presenter – BEYOND THE COVER

Where Stories Breathe and Culture Comes Alive

A Dream Catcher Radio Original

Our second guest was the talented Andreia Santos who early this week interviewed me for her show next week.

Her show airs every Monday from 12–1pm, step into a world where pages turn, ideas bloom, and stories stretch far beyond the ink that holds them. Beyond the Cover is your weekly escape into the heart of literature, guided by the thoughtful, soulful voice of Andreia Santos.

Originally from Portugal and now a proud part of the UK for nearly a decade, Andreia brings a beautifully blended perspective — European warmth, British curiosity, and a lifelong devotion to books, music, and culture.

They have 50k listeners mainly from overseas.

Aston and I spoke about Strictly starting on Saturday because of our mutual passion of dance. We say bring on the sequins and sparkle!!!
