Autism in my opinion is a neurodevelopmental condition caused by many factors, including genetics, its not something to blame on common medications such as paracetamol or us mothers.
#Autism also clearly runs in families.
Siblings of autistic individuals are more likely to be diagnosed, and many parents or relatives show autistic traits even without formal diagnosis.
My concern is if Donald Trump’s claim gains traction, pregnant women might avoid Paracetamol out of fear.
This could possibly lead to untreated fevers or pain, which could potentially be a greater risk to the pregnancy than the paracetamol itself.

It is possible that women may also turn to riskier alternative medication such as ibuprofen, which is I believe unsafe later in pregnancy.
There is also a risk of increasing stigma yet again as I have seen over the years by blaming mothers for autism, ( remembering the refridgerated mother articles ) and undermining trust for the mother in medical advice.
